Today, saw the annual Shetland Darts Masters played, a demonstration tournament where eight of the best PDC darts players in the world fought for the honours. Simon Whitlock , runner-up last year, continued his form of the last European Championship survival and ended up the winner of the Shetland Darts Masters 2013.
There were three Dutch Players present, Raymond van Barneveld who won this tournament in 2012, as well as the debutants Michael van Gerwen and Vincent van der Voort.
Van Barneveld and Van Gerwen met in the quarterfinals, where Barney was defeated 8-7.
In the semi-finals van Gerwen lost 8-6 to the eventual winner. Van der Voort lost to Adrian Lewis. The tall Dutchman won only one leg. The Scotsman Gary Anderson was present and Andy Hamilton, was also in action.
The tournament was being held for the fourth time. The first two were won by Phil Taylor.
