TERRY JENKINS won a dramatic Group Four of Championship League Darts on Tuesday as Michael van Gerwen and Mervyn King hit nine-darters, but Dave Chisnall and Kevin Painter were eliminated from the internet-streamed event.
Jenkins was one of the three players who came in to join the five survivors from last month's Group Three of the tournament, which is streamed worldwide through www.LIVEPDC.TV and a series of bookmakers' websites.
The Ledbury ace, who turned 50 in September, showed his class by winning six of his seven league games to top the table, before defeating Gary Anderson with a fabulous 107 average to reach the final.
He then saved arguably his best performance for the decider, taking leads of 4-0 and 5-2 against van Gerwen, who then hit a stunning nine-darter as he hit back to level with four ton-plus
checkouts, only for Jenkins to finish 96 in the 11th leg to claim victory.
Jenkins punished a missed bull from van Gerwen to win the final's opening leg with a 64 finish, before breaking with a 180 and double four and finishing 80 to win the third leg.
Van Gerwen missed six darts to win the fourth, across three visits, as Jenkins took out 66 to move 4-0 up, only to be punished himself for a miss at double 18 in the next, as the Dutch star took out 128 on the bull to hit back.
He then finished 112 to win a second leg, with Jenkins moving 5-2 up in the seventh by hitting a 180 and an 87 finish for a 12-darter.
Van Gerwen took the next in brilliant fashion, with a 160 score followed by a 145 checkout as he finished 305 in six darts - before then pulling back to 5-4 with a sensational nine-darter, hitting two 180s and a 141 finish.
When Jenkins then missed the bull for a 161 finish and two further match darts at double four in the tenth leg, van Gerwen's fightback continued as he finished double 16 to force a decider.
Jenkins, with the advantage throw, was first to a finish and took out 96 on double 18 to progress to next Thursday's Winners Group, alongside Phil Taylor, Andy Hamilton and Wes Newton.

"I felt I deserved to go through," said Jenkins. "I've played absolutely brilliantly and I wanted to go home and have a few days off, so I was determined to hit that winning double!
"The final was a really good game to be in. I had him on the ropes when I had two darts at double 18 to go 5-1 up and really bury him, and then when when I hit three 140s [in the ninth leg] he did the nine-darter!
"It was a brilliant game to play in and Michael showed what he's capable of. It was a really tough game and I had to keep my cool and not panic too much at the end."
Jenkins added: "After the week Dave Chisnall had in Dublin, who would have predicted that he would go out today, but that's what darts is like now.
"It's getting hard work for me now, but I suppose as you get older you tend to relax a little bit more and that's what's helping me win games.
"Phil Taylor [who's now 53] somebody that inspires you to keep going, but it is getting hard work for me."
Jenkins had been knocked out by Connie Finnan in the first round of the partypoker.com World Grand Prix last week, and he admitted that the defeat had inspired his run in Championship League Darts.
"That was a bit of a kick up the backside for me," he said. "I suppose I took it as though it was going to be an easy game in the first round, and I learned my lesson."
Van Gerwen will now return to Crondon Park GC in Essex on Wednesday to compete in Group Five, continuing his ever-present record so far this year as the only player remaining in the event from Group One, which featured the world's top eight stars.
The Dutch star won five of his six league games during the day, including a 6-0 whitewash of World Grand Prix runner-up Chisnall in their opener, and also overcame Peter Wright 6-4 in the semi-finals before missing out on progression.
Wright and Ander both reached the semi-finals in their first day of the tournament this year, with Wright winning four of his seven games with some brilliant darts.
Anderson, meanwhile, edged out Kim Huybrechts to finish fourth in the league table before running out of steam against in-form Jenkins.
Huybrechts and Mervyn King also won three games on the day, with two wins apiece for Chisnall and Kevin Painter not enough as they were eliminated from the tournament.
King had earlier hit his nine-darter against Anderson during their league game, with the achievement putting him 4-3 up only for the Bradwell ace to lose out 6-4 - the third time in his career in which he has hit a perfect leg only to be defeated in the match.
Tuesday's five survivors in the event are joined for Group Five by Paul Nicholson, Ronnie Baxter and Mark Webster, who will contest Wednesday's action.

MATCH INFORMATION
First Set of Matches
Michael van Gerwen raced to a 6-0 whitewash win over Dave Chisnall, Sunday's partypoker.com World Grand Prix runner-up. Van Gerwen hit a 180 and double 12 for a 13-darter to claim the opening leg, and punished missed doubles from Chisnall to take the next two, breaking with a 112 finish and then hitting double top. Double ten put the Dutch ace 4-0 up, before Chisnall hit a 180 in leg five, only to miss the bull to finish 81 and further darts at double eight and four as van Gerwen posted double five to win a fifth leg. The world number two then opened the sixth leg with 180 and 171, and although he missed out on a nine-dart finish, he took out 90 to complete a quick-fire win in under ten minutes!
Peter Wright staged a brilliant fightback from 5-2 down to claim victory in a high-quality opener against Gary Anderson. Anderson took out double four and double 14 to win the first two legs, before Wright hit back with double eight and a 78 checkout, following a 180. Wright also landed maximums in the next two legs, but Anderson finished 84 in both to move 4-2 up and then took out 81 to move to the brink of victory. However, he missed two darts at double four to seal the win in the next as Wright took out double 16 to stay in the contest before finishing 124 and 104 to force a decider. Anderson was first to a finish, but missed six darts at double top, ten and five - after turning down the chance to throw for the bull on a 170 finish - and Wright took out 150 on double 18 to snatch victory.
Terry Jenkins claimed a 6-3 win over Kim Huybrechts as they opened Group Four with a heavy-scoring clash. Huybrechts took out 118 to win the opening leg, before Jenkins hit 180s in the next two legs as he took out 81 and 80 to move 2-1 up, despite the Belgian hitting a 168 in leg three. Huybrechts then opened the fourth leg with two 180s, but missed out on a nine-darter and then missed two darts at double 16, as Jenkins took out 76 to move 3-1 up. Huybrechts finished double 16 in the next two to level, but Jenkins edged the seventh on double one, hit tops to move 5-3 up and then sealed the win, following two misses from the Belgian, by hitting double six.
Kevin Painter made an ideal start to Group Four with a 6-2 win over Mervyn King, taking five successive legs with some clinical finishing. King opened the game with a brilliant 11-darter, and after Painter hit tops to level, double 16 put the Bradwell ace 2-1 up. Painter, though, hit a 180 as he levelled before breaking throw on double 16, and moved 4-2 up with a brilliant sixth leg, finishing 100 with two double tops after King had posted a 180 to leave 32. Painter then took out 89 to pull clear, and landed a 180 and double 18 to seal the win.
Second Set of Matches
Michael van Gerwen continued his brilliant start to Group Four, taking a 6-4 victory over Gary Anderson. Van Gerwen opened the game in sensational style with a 14-darter, a 124 finish for a 12-darter and another 14-dart leg to lead 3-0. He also hit a 180 in the fourth before Anderson took out 36 to hit back, only for a 13-darter to restore van Gerwen's cushion. The next two legs before shared, before Anderson took out tops and 86 on the bull to pull back to 5-3 - but he was punished for missing six darts at double 16 in the next as van Gerwen hit a 180 and double 18 to claim the win.
Peter Wright remains unbeaten following two games after his 6-3 defeat of Dave Chisnall. Wright finished double ten and 81 to take the first two legs, only for Chisnall to win the next three legs to move 3-2 up. Wright took out 96 to level and hit a 180 and double 16 to move 4-3 up, before claiming a third successive leg to move to the brink of a victory which he sealed with a fifth 180 in leg nine.
Kim Huybrechts produced a fine display to claim a 6-1 win over Mervyn King. The Belgian took out 123 and 140 in two of the first three legs, hitting a 180 in the other as he moved 3-0 up, before punishing two misses from King to land double eight in leg four. King hit a 180 and took out 64 to get off the mark in the fifth, but tops put Huybrechts 5-1 up. The Belgian hit a 180 in being first to a finish in leg seven, initially missing five match darts only to return following four misses from King to seal the points on double ten.
Terry Jenkins' winning start to Group Four continued with a 6-4 win over Kevin Painter. Painter hit a 180 and double 16 to win the opener before Jenkins levelled with a maximum and a 161 finish in leg two, and the next two legs were also shared before Painter finished 84 on double 12 to lead 3-2. The next two also went with throw to leave him 4-3 up, but Jenkins finished 76 to level, 104 to break and move 5-4 up and 80 on double ten to claim the win.
Third Set of Matches
Gary Anderson won his first game of Group Four, coming from behind to claim a 6-4 win over Kevin Painter. Painter took the opening leg, but missed doubles to win the next two as Anderson moved ahead, only for the Scot to miss his chance on the fourth as Painter took out 70 on double eight and 64 to lead 3-2. Anderson took out 60 on tops to level, but Painter capitalised on two misses at double 11 from his opponent to take a 4-3 lead. Anderson, though, regained his range and won the next three legs with 14-darters top pick up his first points of the day.
Terry Jenkins' unbeaten start to this year's event continued with a 6-4 win over Michael van Gerwen. Van Gerwen kicked off the game with a 13-darter, but was left sat on 32 in the next as Jenkins took out 106 to level, and the Ledbury ace took out tops and 84 to win the next two and take a 3-1 lead. The pair traded 180s in the fifth leg as van Gerwen hit back with a 13-darter, before double eight put Jenkins 4-2 up. Van Gerwen finished double four and 88 to claim two of the next three, with Jenkins having hit a 180 and double ten to win his fifth leg before adding another maximum and a 78 checkout in claiming the win.
Mervyn King won his first game of the day, taking a 6-3 win over Peter Wright. Wright made an outstanding start by winning the first two legs in 11 and 12 darts, scoring 180, 100 and 180 in his first three visits of each leg. King took out 84 to win the third and then levelled before double 16 put Wright back ahead at 3-2. King, though, levelled on tops, hit double five to lead and then won the eighth for a 5-3 cushion, before punishing three misses at tops from Wright in the next to seal his first two-pointer on double 16.
Dave Chisnall bounced back from two opening defeats with a 6-5 victory over Kim Huybrechts, claiming the win with an 11-darter in the deciding leg. Huybrechts landed double eight to win three of the first five legs, with Chisnall levelling again in the sixth and finishing 75 to move ahead in leg seven. Missed doubles from Chisnall allowed the Belgian to level in the eighth, before the roles were reversed as the World Grand Prix finalist took out tops to steal the ninth and move 5-4 up. Chisnall, though, missed his chance to take victory in the tenth as Huybrechts finished 74 on double 16 to force a deciding leg, but Chisnall produced a superb 11-darter to claim victory, scoring 180, 41, 180 and taking out 100.
Fourth Set of Matches
Michael van Gerwen produced a 13-darter to win the deciding leg of his game with Kevin Painter. Painter hit a 174 to leave 32 in the opening leg, and when van Gerwen missed double top and ten, the Englishman finished double 16 to take first blookd, before van Gerwen hit a 180 and double 16 to level and took out 74 to move ahead. Double six gave Painter the fourth leg, before van Gerwen took the next three to move to the brink of victory. Painter took the next three to force a deciding leg, but van Gerwen landed another maximum and finished double 18 for a 13-darter to claim the points.
Terry Jenkins won his fourth successive match in Group Four, defeating Gary Anderson 6-3. Jenkins made a brilliant start, hitting 180s in the opening two legs and finishing 96, double ten and double three to move 3-0 up. Anderson kick-started his challenge with a 160 finish, and then took out double six and a 98 finish to level. Jenkins hit tops to win the seventh, and landed the same bed to edge the eighth, after Anderson missed double top - in double one - and double 19, putting the Ledbury ace 5-3 up before he took out double five in the next for the win.
Mervyn King picked up a key 6-4 victory, defeating Dave Chisnall 6-4. Chisnall took the game's first two legs, and after King finished 68 to get off the mark, he also won the next to lead 3-1. King finished 108 to take leg five, only for Chisnall to reply with a 150 checkout as he moved 4-2 up. King, though, replied with double six, punished a missed bullseye to level by finishing 61 on double 18 and then moved 5-4 up with a brilliant leg, opening with seven treble 20s, and though he missed out on a nine-darter took the leg in 12 darts before then sealing victory with a 180 and a 121 finish.
Peter Wright won his third game of the day, taking a 6-1 victory over Kim Huybrechts. The pair shared the first two legs, before Wright finished double 16 to win the third and broke in leg four. Double 16 gave him a 4-1 lead, before he posted a tricky third-dart double 14 to move closer to victory, which was sealed when - after the pair traded 180s - he finished 88 on the bull after the Belgian missed the same double to take out 164.
Fifth Set of Matches
Kevin Painter hit back from 5-3 down to claim a narrow 6-5 win over Peter Wright. Painter took the opening leg on double 16 and hit 180s in the next two, only for Wright to finish 45 and double top to lead 2-1, before double three put him two legs clear and double eight moved him 4-1 up, with both players initially missing doubles in two visits. Painter hit back to win the next two, before Wright won leg eight to move to the brink of victory at 5-3. Painter, though, hit 180s in the next two legs as finishes of 126 and 82 forced a decider, which he opened with a 180 and won on double 16, after Wright missed tops to finish 117.
Michael van Gerwen claimed his fourth win of the day, sweeping to a 6-3 win over Kim Huybrechts. Huybrechts hit a 180 and double four to win the opener, took out 77 to take the second and followed a 177 with a 140 in taking the third. Van Gerwen hit a 180 and double eight in the next tow legs, before landing another maximum as he levelled. Finishes of 74 and 78 then put him 5-3 up, before he took out 32 for a sixth successive leg in completing the win.
Terry Jenkins wins his fifth successive game, defeating Dave Chisnall 6-2 to leave the World Grand Prix finalist at the foot of the table. Jenkins made a brilliant start to win the first four legs without reply, hitting double 12, double ten, 78 and double 16. Chisnall took out legs of 14 and 12 darts to win two of the next three legs to hit back, including a 124 bullseye finish, but Jenkins sealed victory in style with a 12-dart leg, hitting a 180 and an 87 finish.
Mervyn King hits NINE-DART FINISH during his game with Gary Anderson - but goes on to lose the match 6-4. King made a fine start with legs of 13, 14 and 13 darts to win the opening three legs, finishing double 11, 94 and double 16 as well as landing two 180s. Anderson replied with checkouts of 144 and 120, before levelling with an 84 finish only for King to open the seventh leg with two 180s, before taking out 141 on double 12 to achieve a perfect leg. Anderson hit back by finishing 78 in the eighth leg, punished a missed bull from his opponent to lead 5-4 before adding a 180 and double nine to claim victory.
Sixth Set of Matches
Kim Huybrechts won his second game of Group Four, coming from 5-2 down to edge out Gary Anderson 6-5. Anderson hit 180s in winning two of the first three legs, with Huybrechts taking out 44 and 52 to reply. The Scot then won the next three to move to the brink of victory at 5-2, only to miss tops in the next two as Huybrechts hit back. The Belgian then took out double ten to level and force a decider, which he won with an 85 finish on double ten after Anderson missed a match dart at tops.
Dave Chisnall picked up a second victory of the day with a potentially significant whitewash of Kevin Painter, joining his opponent amongst a clutch of players on four league points. Chisnall hit a 180 as he won the opening leg, before finishing double 12 and 103, on double 18, to move 3-0 up. He added another 180 in winning a fourth leg, and tops to move 5-0 up, before punishing three misses from Painter by sealing a whitewash on double four.
Peter Wright sealed a Play-Off place with a 6-3 win over previously unbeaten Terry Jenkins. Wright won three of the first four legs before Jenkins hit back to level at three-all. The new world number 16, though, took the seventh and then finished 112 to move 5-3 up, before landing a 180 and finishing 124 on the bull to complete the win, moving him onto eight league points.
Mervyn King came from 5-2 down to win in a deciding leg against Michael van Gerwen, boosting his hopes of avoiding elimination. After the pair shared the opening two legs, van Gerwen won four of the next five as he swept into a 5-2 lead, twice punishing missed doubles from his opponent. King, though, took the next two to hit back, and then took out 135 to force a decider, in which he landed a 180 before sealing the win with a 140 finish on double 16.
Final Set of Matches
Michael van Gerwen came from 5-2 down to claim a narrow 6-5 win over Peter Wright. Van Gerwen finished 36 and 40 to win the opening two legs, but Wright hit back on tops and then punished two misses from the Dutchman by finishing 100 with two double tops to level. The Scot then hit 180s in the next three legs as he moved 5-2 up with finishes of double five, double eight and double 16, only to miss darts for the match in the next two as van Gerwen, aided by tops and double 16, pulled back to 5-4. Double eight saw the Dutch ace force a decider, and he took out 92 on the same bed to claim the win.
Gary Anderson avoided elimination and knocked out Dave Chisnall with a dramatic 6-5 win in their clash. Chisnall took out 101 to win the opener, and after Anderson levelled on double eight, the World Grand Prix finalist took out tops in the next two to lead 3-1. Double ten saw Anderson hit back, and after Chisnall produced a brilliant 11-darter, the Scot took out 70 and 67 to level at four-all. He then missed the bull to move ahead in the ninth as Chisnall hit a 180 and double 12, but Anderson finished tops to force a deciding leg and hit the same bed to finish a high-quality sudden-death shoot-out to ensure survival, with Chisnall hitting a 180 but only able to watch on as his opponent finishes a 13-darter.
Terry Jenkins finished the league phase with a flourish, as a 6-1 defeat of Mervyn King sealed top spot in the league table with a sixth victory. Jenkins took out 96 to win the opening leg, with King hitting two 180s in an 11-darter to reply, but the Ledbury ace ran away with the rest of the game, finishing 16, 74 and double two to move 4-1 up, before hitting 180s in the next two as he completed a big win.
Kim Huybrechts eliminated Kevin Painter from Championship League Darts with a 6-2 victory in their winner-survives clash - but the Belgian narrowly misses out on a Play-Off place. Huybrechts took the game's first four legs, punishing a slow start from Painter by finishing double nine, 32 and tops in two successive legs before the Rugby ace took out 70 on the bull to hit back. The pair traded finishes of double eight in the next two as Painter pulled back to 5-2 - winning the second leg which would later deny Huybrechts a Play-Off place - before the Belgian sealed victory with a 100 finish. Huybrechts misses out on the Play-Offs on Legs Won to Gary Anderson, having matched the Scot as -2 in Leg Difference.
Semi-Finals
Terry Jenkins stormed into the Group Four final with a 6-1 win over Gary Anderson, averaging 107.45 in his best performance of the day. Jenkins showed no mercy as he took the first two legs on double ten and followed a 180 with tops to move 3-0 up. Anderson finished 81 to pull back a leg, but Jenkins finished 124 to win the fifth and punished a missed double 12 from Anderson to lead 5-1 on double four, before taking the next to seal his spot in the decider.
Michael van Gerwen booked his place in the Group Four final, defeating Peter Wright 6-4. Wright finished double eight and double four to win the first two legs, following misses from van Gerwen, who hit back to win the next three to lead 3-2. Double 14 saw Wright level, with van Gerwen finishing 70 on double 16 to move 4-3 up. Tops saw Wright take leg eight, but when he missed the bull in the next the Dutchman finished a 13-darter on double eight to move 5-4 up, before he punished a missed double 15 from the Scot by finishing double ten to progress to the final.
Final
Terry Jenkins won the Group Four final with a dramatic 6-5 win over Michael van Gerwen, who hit a nine-dart leg as he hit back from 4-0 down to level a high-quality match before losing out in the final leg. Jenkins punished a missed bull from van Gerwen to win the opening leg with a 64 finish, before breaking with a 180 and double four and finishing 80 to win the third leg. When Jenkins then missed the bull for a 161 finish and two further match darts at double four in the tenth leg, van Gerwen's fightback continued as he finished double 16 to force a decider, but Jenkins, with the throw, was first to a finish and took out 96 on double 18 to progress to next Thursday's Winners Group.
