PDC McCoys Premier League- Week 13 Preview

The McCoys Premier league rolls into the home of the Beatles this Thursday. Liverpool has given us some cracking darts in the past. Will this week be the same? Hamilton and Wade are the 2 players that play twice this week.

May 2 - The Echo Arena, Liverpool

Michael van Gerwen v Andy Hamilton
James Wade v Simon Whitlock
Robert Thornton v Phil Taylor
Raymond van Barneveld v Adrian Lewis
James Wade v Andy Hamilton

First match on is MvG v Hamilton. Van Gerwen won again at the weekend in Wigan for the UK Open qualifiers and was impressive to say the least. This looks on paper a very one sided match, with the Hammer unable to qualify for the play-offs. Mighty Mike is unstoppable at the moment but shows the odd blip when on stage. Hamilton wont give up we know that and with nothing to fight for he will be relaxed and up for the match, so an upset might happen.

Second on is Wade against Whitlock. Both players are in form and love a good scrap. The Machine was quoted has saying some negative things about RvB last week although when they asked Barney about it he said they weren't true, and just to prove it he beat Wade fair and Square. Wade has had a little dip in form but sits fourth in the table and needs a win to climb back up. Whitlock could still make it to the play-offs but will need others to drop points to make it. It should be a good match with both fighting for major points.

Thornton v Taylor is next on the stage. The Thorn seems to love playing Taylor at the moment ever since the UK Open final last year he isn't scared of the Power. He always brings his A game and its a good scrap for all to enjoy. Thornton sits one point behind Wade at the moment and has 3 games left to play. He could literally be the Thorn in someones side by the end of next week. Taylor had two wins last week and is looking good to make it, although a lot of people had put him out a couple of weeks ago.

RvB against Lewis is the next match on. Barney is in joint second at the moment, and beat Wade last week in a One sided match. Lewis is out, he cant qualify now and after the weekend he has just had in Wigan he is feeling good about it. His Form has suddenly returned and is looking like the Jackpot of old. He could give Barney a really good game and cause him all sorts of problems this Thursday. Can RvB hold it all together and push to the end?

Last match on is Wade v Hamilton. 2 Fighters. 2 Players who rarely give up. This should be a cracker. The Hammer will be relaxed with no pressure and Wade depending how his first match went, might have it all to fight for. Both players will be tired and emotions will be high so who wins will be anybodies guess. But it will be a true tungsten tussle to the end.
