Its week 12 in the McCoys premier league already and this week it steams into the city of Birmingham. This week sees Taylor, Lewis and Thornton all playing twice.
April 25 - The NIA, Birmingham
Phil Taylor v Adrian Lewis
Simon Whitlock v Michael van Gerwen
Robert Thornton v Andy Hamilton
Raymond van Barneveld v James Wade
Phil Taylor v Simon Whitlock
Adrian Lewis v Robert Thornton
The first match on stage is Taylor against Lewis. The master v the Padawan. These two are old friends and training partners, but on stage that's all forgotten. The Power had a good week last week with a win and a draw. Jackpot on the other hand suffered a loss at the hands of MvG. He had his chances to take the win but didn't convert, Leaving him all but on the Premier league scrap heap. There is no way back for Lewis now barring he wins all his games 7-0. Taylor enjoys making his young Protege suffer on stage and this week will be no different.
Whitlock v van Gerwen is next on. The Wizard is starting to hit a bit of form at long last, its just unfortunate that he comes up against MvG who is in his prime. Both players had wins last week so this should be a good match. It will be high scoring and high checkouts for sure. With how the recent form has gone this should be a win for MvG but don't count Whitlock out, hes at his best when he has something to prove.
Third match on is Thornton v Hamilton. There is only one point separating these players and its going to go down to the wire. Both need to win matches to make the play-offs and Thornton has a game in hand over the Hammer. The Thorn has been a Revelation in this years Premier League, he isn't afraid of anybody and always puts up a good fight. Hamilton is.... well Hamilton. He has more grit than John Wayne and just never knows when to give up. It will be a battle of the toughest and only the strong willed will make it out the other side.
The match of the night could be Barneveld against Wade. These pair never let us down when they play each other. One point also splits them with Wade taking second behind MvG at the moment. Barney had a loss and a draw last week although he should of won against Taylor, So what will his mind set be. Wade on the other hand has played 12 and won 7 and is showing form of old. If these two are on it from the off it will be a Tungsten tussle of titanic proportions. I can tell you now it wont be a draw, both need a win and will be going for it!
Taylor v Whitlock should be a cracker to. The Wizard has a 'Barney' Complex with the Power in the past but seems to be getting over that now. Can he beat Taylor? We shall have to wait and see. Taylor is a strange creature at the moment. Before this Premier League he was always a guaranteed win, But this year things have changed. I honestly believe that he has had enough of the travelling around now, but just doesn't know how to give it up and a professional player friend of mine said the same thing. Is this Phil's last year at the top before he slowly bows out? Its looking that way.
Last match of the night is Lewis against Thornton. The second match of the night for both players. Jackpot has I've said is all but out, only 2 wins tonight could give him a very slim chance, but he is playing the Thorn and the Thorn doesn't give many Chances. Lewis is the other player out of sorts. His form has evaporated and is really struggling to find the wins in any tournament this year. The premier League is a tough nut to crack, if it grabs you, you will suffer the side effects from it for a couple of years. I think Jackpot has been grabbed. Look at Past Premier League players.... Webster, Painter to name 2. All have gone through huge dips in form and some are only just striking back. Lewis needs to break free and it has to be this week or he is DOOMED!!!!

Your Walk-On Girls this week see the return of the dynamic duo of Sammi Marsh and Daniella Allfree. Sammi has had one hell of a week so far, after running the London Marathon on Sunday in a time of 5 hours 20 mins, with a bad knee too i might add. Walking these trouble makers on should be a breeze, and keeping control of the others will be Daniella, who is more then capable. Its always a good night when these two ladies are at the darts, so sit back, relax and enjoy!
