PDC German Darts Championship European Tour- Draw

PHIL TAYLOR will begin the defence of his German Darts Championship European Tour title against David Pallett in Hildesheim in September, while Michael van Gerwen has drawn Terry Temple in the first round of the £100,000 event.

The sixth European Tour event of the year will be held from September 6-8 at Halle 39 in Hildesheim, Germany.

The event features the top 32 qualifiers from the One-Year ProTour Order of Merit, along with 20 UK Qualifiers, while the field will be completed on Thursday September 5 by four Home Nation Qualifiers and eight European Qualifiers.

With the UK Qualifier having been played in Crawley recently, the first round draw has seen last year's German Darts Championship winner Taylor - who defeated Dave Chisnall to win the event in Berlin last year and was also the recent Gibraltar Darts Trophy winner - paired up with Shropshire youngster David Pallett.

Chisnall has drawn Dean Winstanley in a tasty first round tie, while number one seed van Gerwen takes on York's Terry Temple, who is enjoying a good year on the PDC ProTour.

Number two seed Simon Whitlock plays left-hander Alan Tabern, while Robert Thornton, Wes Newton, Adrian Lewis, Andy Hamilton, Justin Pipe, Kim Huybrechts, Brendan Dolan and Terry Jenkins all drew European Qualifiers.

Mervyn King, Paul Nicholson, James Wade and Mark Walsh will meet German opposition in the first round after being paired with Host Nation Qualifiers, while Raymond van Barneveld takes on Dennis Smith, Ronnie Baxter meets Michael Smith and Colin Lloyd will play Daryl Gurney.

The first round of the event will be split across two stages in two sessions on Friday September 6, with the second round being played in two sessions on Saturday September 7.

The tournament will then conclude on Sunday September 8, with the third round taking place in the afternoon session and the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final being held in the evening session.

PHIL TAYLOR and Raymond van Barneveld were knocked out of the partypoker.net European Championship in two amazing second round games with Ronny Huybrechts and Robert Thornton at the RWE Sporthalle in Muelheim, Germany on Saturday.

World Champion and four-time European Champion Taylor went down 10-5 to Ronny Huybrechts, as the Belgian produced the biggest victory of his career.

BDO Festival of Youth Darts

Entries for the much anticipated BDO Festival of Youth Darts is July 20th.

There will be seven separate events for Boys, Girls and Teams in the unique BDO Festival of Youth Darts to be held at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom over the weekend of July 27th and 28th.

Top of the bill will be the Under-18 Boys and Girls Singles with a prize fund of nearly £2,000 which includes £500 for the Boys Champion and £250 for the Girls Champion. The British Teenage Mixed Singles also offers a top prize of £500, together with invites to the 2013 Winmau World Masters play-offs.

To complete the exciting line-up there will be 18-25 Challenge events for male and female, and the British Youth KO Cup for 18-25's will complete the weekend. Spectators will be welcome at £8 per day or £12 for a weekend pass.

It's a weekend featuring the BDO's talented youth players and is not to be missed.

PDC Anderson Withdraws from Euro's

GARY ANDERSON has withdrawn from the partypoker.net European Championship through illness, and will be replaced by Mark Webster.

Under Rule 3.8 of the PDC Order of Merit Rules, the next non-qualified player from the PDC Order of Merit comes into the event as a direct replacement, meaning that Webster now takes Anderson's place in the draw.

Welsh ace Webster will meet fellow left-hander James Wade, the number four seed, in Thursday night's final first round fixture.

World number ten Justin Pipe has confirmed that he will compete in the £200,000 tournament, despite the sudden death of his brother last weekend.

The hugely popular Granite City Open was played at the Aberdeen Conference Centre this weekend and the in-form DETA HEDMAN notched up her 9th title of 2013 and her 10th of the current season! She is the Granite City Open Ladies Singles Champion for the second consecutive year, and GARY ROBSON has been crowned 2013 Granite City Men's Singles Champion.

PDC Gibraltar Darts Trophy

PHIL TAYLOR made a thrilling start to the Gibraltar Darts Trophy event with a 6-2 defeat of Gino Vos on Friday night, but home hopes in the tournament were ended as all four Gibraltarian qualifiers were knocked out of the European Tour event.

World Champion Taylor kicked off the first PDC event in Gibraltar for three years with a sublime display as he averaged 115.31 and hit four 11-dart legs against Vos.

PHIL TAYLOR defeated Welsh youngster Jamie Lewis 6-1 to claim the Gibraltar Darts Trophy title on Sunday night, taking his first European Tour victory of 2013 in style with an imperious weekend of darts.

Taylor claimed the £20,000 first prize and claimed his second big win of the month, following his Speedy Services UK Open title, as he swept through the field at the Victoria Stadium.

The World Champion dropped only seven legs throughout six wins over the weekend, with Friday's first round defeat of Gino Vos and Saturday's win over Dean Winstanley followed by four victories in Sunday's decisive final stages.
